Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the front-line contact for the service
  • Working alongside other Student Advice Service Manager staff, help to provide a full administrative support service to the unit
  • Working alongside the Head of Student Experience to provide a full administrative support for the School’s Wellbeing and Support for Study Procedures
  • Extensive diary management for the Head of Student Experience
  • Support Programmes Office Manager with Return to Study process
  • Scheduling Break in Studies meetings with appropriate staff and students
  • Working alongside the Student Advice Service Manager to provide administrative support for the Support Advisor Meeting process
  • Monitor stocks of stationery, leaflets, printer inks etc, and complete stationery order forms for budget holders to sign, when new stationery is needed
  • Ensure that the office is maintained in a tidy and coherent manner at all times
  • Make judgements on the urgency of requests made to the Centre and, in consultation with the Student Advice Service Manager, prioritise its work in response to this
Experience:
  • Experience of office administration
  • Ability to learn and retain a broad knowledge about pastoral student support issues
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a calm, efficient manner
  • A desire to work as part of a team and with confidence in an advisory role to individuals and groups of students seeking information about a broad range of issues
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of different stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated and proactive
  • Experience of working effectively to deadlines and self-organising
  • Ability to show initiative, as well as respond to instructions
