Senior Policy Officer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Policy Officer with least one year’s experience in a policy role - preferably in a regulatory environment.

What will you be doing?
We are currently recruiting Senior Policy officer.  As Senior Policy Officer you will assist in developing and implementing policy and strategy, take responsibility for a number of key areas of the Policy and Standards Department’s work and to research, write and develop reports and policy documents and assist in establishing and reviewing standards.

Key Duties will also include:
  • Contributing to work plans, including developing and exploring potential areas of work autonomously.
  • Participation in and leading projects relevant to Policy and Standards.
  • Monitor policy, legislative and other developments relevant to professional regulation and the role.
  • Undertake research and provide background briefings and information for Council members, management team and external organisations on request.
  • Research and prepare responses to external consultations, including consultations where complex policy decisions and external advice are needed.
  • Write briefings, reports, consultation documents, Council and Committee papers, material for the company website and intranet, and other documents as required.
  • Actively contribute to Policy and Standards Department communications work, internally and externally.
  • Representation and promotion of conferences, meetings and other events.
  • Work in collaboration with the Communications Department to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including members, on policy matters.
About you:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Experiences within a similar policy role; with clear understanding of legislation is essential.
  • Working knowledge of window based software packages, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, electronic mail, and the internet.
  • Proven ability to manage projects.
  • Exceptional time planning and management skills.
  • Ability to produce reports.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy while working in a fast paced and time sensitive environment.
  • Willing to travel as required including overnight stays if required.
