Scheduling Assistant

We are currently seeking a Scheduling Assistant to Coordinate and assist with pre-hearing activity related to fitness to practise hearings.

Who will you be working for?

What will you be doing?
As Scheduling Assistant you will coordinate and assist with all pre-hearing related tasks including fitness to practise hearings.  This support will include the diarising and completion of calls with stakeholders who will give evidence virtually, as well as providing
administrative support to colleagues within the Tribunal Service.

Key Duties:
  • Co-ordinating the attendance for hearings (dates, times and locations), including panel members, legal assessor, registrant, representatives, and witnesses. Management of complex multi-party hearings.
  • Provide support and guidance to registrants or witnesses who may be vulnerable or need reasonable adjustments or special measures to support their attendance at hearings.
  • Assist with the provision of special measures or reasonable adjustments and other logistical elements required for hearings.
  • Work closely and communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure the successful delivery of hearings, including your managers, Scheduling Officers, Hearings Officers and colleagues in case management, Communications and Partners.
  • Keep all parties to a hearing updated on the scheduling progress and anticipated hearings dates and locations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in and ensure own compliance with Tribunal Service policies, practices notes, guidance, processes and service standards that govern your work.
  • Work as part of the team, supporting and assisting colleagues, peers and your managers to achieve team priorities, objectives, targets and goals.

About you:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent essential
  • Experience of working within a tribunal or hearings setting.
  • Ability to support and manage challenging and vulnerable individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
