PA to Headteacher

We are seeking an experienced PA to work within a wonderful Upper School located in North London.  You will be given a detailed handover.  The expectation is that you will be available to start work late April or early May to help facilitate a full handover.

PA to Headteacher – £29,626pa - £34,385pa dependent on experience and pro rata (FTE £32,868pa- £38,148pa) – term only plus 2 weeks off. 35 hour working week and permanent.
Who will you be working for?

Our client is an outstanding single sex upper School.   
This position would suit those experienced with senior level administrative support .

What will you be doing?

As PA to Headteacher is a central role in the school administration, which is varied,
demanding and rewarding. The role ranges from arranging daily teaching cover, organising daily
briefings to staff, dealing with the Headteacher’s correspondence to the management of recruitment and much more.
Other responsibilities include:
  • To provide confidential PA support to the Headteacher including management of special and confidential correspondence, co-ordinating internal meetings, schedule appointments, diary and email corresepondence.
  • Screen incoming enquiries and greet important external visitors.
  • To liaise with school staff, students and others outside the school, particularly parents, and representatives of the Local Educational Authority, Governors, Parents and Teachers.
  • Prepare agendas, presentation documents, spreadsheets and reports for the Headteacher.
  • Collate reports for Governors’ meetings / Headteacher reports.
  • To co-ordinate internal meetings, schedule appointments and support for the Headteacher
  • To liaise with the Headteacher, Chair of Governors and the chairs of governors’ committees in publishing agendas and minutes of governors’ committee meetings.
  • To produce the daily morning briefing.
  • To communicate with parents as necessary
  • To assist with the compilation of the staff handbook.
  • To act as a Fire Warden.
  • To cover Reception, when required.
  • To undertake school First Aid for students and staff, contact parents and reporting all accidents on the online system.
  • The post holder may be required to work flexibly on occasions to enable school deadlines to be met. This may include occasional additional hours or changes to starting/finishing times.
  • HR related duties such as arranging teacher cover, process staff salary forms, updating SIMS, checking DBS, vetting staff, organising campaigns etc.
  • Any other PA and administrative support duties as necessary.
What do you need?
  • Degree education or equivalent.
  • Hold relevant experience within an equally busy position.
  • High level of computer literacy and numeracy.
  • A positive attitude approach to your work.
  • An Education or schooling background is highly desired but not essential.
  • Knowledge of SIMS and willingness to train further - highly desired
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity and honesty at all times.
