Hearings Assistant

We are currently seeking a Hearings Assistant with experience of working within tribunal or hearings setting.

Who will you be working for?

What will you be doing?
As Hearings Assistant you will administratively coordinate and assist with hearing related activity (within fitness to practise). You will be responsible for complex logistical issues, ensuring that tasks are prioritised and excellent customer service is given to all hearing participants.
  
Key Duties:
  • Co-ordinate the attendance of individuals attending hearings; including panel members, legal assessor, registrant, representatives, and witnesses.
  • Coordinate and communicate dates, times and locations of.
  • Provide support and guidance to registrants or witnesses who may be vulnerable or need reasonable adjustments or special measures to support their attendance at hearings.
  • Work closely and communicate effectively with colleagues ensuring the successful delivery of hearings, including managers, Scheduling Officers, Hearings Officers and colleagues in case management, Communications and Partners.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments and ensure own compliance with Tribunal Service policies, practices note, guidance, processes and service standards that govern your work.
  • Utilising a wide range of communication tools, including telephone, email and letters, provide a high standard of customer care to all internal and external customers.
  • Any other reasonably required duties.
About you:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent essential
  • Experience within a Hearings or Tribunal setting.
  • Ability to support and manage challenging and vulnerable individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
