National Centres Manager

We are seeking an experienced candidate who is confident and experienced in customer-facing operational environments. It is essential that you have management experience of managing multiple locations.  You can be located anywhere in the UK but will need the ability to travel around the UK to different locations as required.
  
Who will you be working for?
Our client is a further education examinations provider. 

What will you be doing?
As National Centres Manager, you will be responsible for managing and visiting a network of 20 examination Centres, ensuring full operational compliance.  You will maintain a robust and thorough series of management controls and checks to ensure efficiency, accountability, accuracy and consistency across the network.
  
You will deliver a programme of Continuous Improvement and Social Value, measuring performance and effectiveness with objectives and KPIs, aiming to enhance the organisations reputational standing in the marketplace.  You will also act as the first point of contact for Centre Managers/Area Manager. Regular centre visits throughout the entire network (as agreed with the Head of Delivery) will be necessary to actively promote a culture of operational and customer service excellence and embed core values.
  
You will also:
  • Identify, devise and implement any changes required to maintain and enhance compliance, operational efficiency, service standards and financial contribution e.g., to the operating model.
  • Line manage and act as first point of contact for Centre Managers/Area Manager, providing advice and guidance as necessary, motivating the team to achieve all round excellence
  • Define, amend, regularly update, and implement required operational processes whilst ensuring all processes and policies are clearly communicated and documented e.g., in centre handbooks and operational manuals.
  • Be responsible for staffing levels, recruitment, learning and development and performance management issues across the centres.
  • Oversee the work between the Demand Management Team and Centres management, maximising efficiency, and revenue, offering customer choice and considering the competition’s activity in the marketplace.
  • Work closely with the Security Team to ensure security procedures are consistently and correctly applied.
  • Provide practical support to SELT Centres, by conducting visits on a regular basis and implementing required changes to improve their performance.
  • This may include audits, centre improvement plans, team meetings, PDRs, 1 to 1 contact with staff and managers etc.
  • Work with Marketing and Business Development to coordinate local promotional/marketing initiatives in line with agreed strategy to maintain/increase market share.
  • Manage relationships and agreements with suppliers/agencies to achieve value for money and high-quality outcomes
  • Manage the utilisation of the property portfolio to achieve value for money, operational efficiency, and high standards, liaising with building management as necessary to negotiate any changes etc
  • Undertake any other duties deemed reasonable and necessary within the position.
About you:
You will have:
  • Experience in the education sector is highly desired, but not essential.
  • Proven management experience.
  • Previous experience of working to targets and display an attitude which is key to success.
  • An ability to travel as required throughout the UK to regional sites.
  • Exceptional communication both written and spoken.
What’s in it for you?
