The Investors in People standard was introduced by the UK government in 1991 and has become one of the most successful initiatives of its kind anywhere in the world. Around 35,000 UK organisations are IIP-recognised, employing about 31% of the UK workforce.

Investors in People organisations are required to take a strategic approach to training and development, and to provide robust evidence of its impact on results. Gordon Yates is one of fewer than 3,000 companies with unbroken recognition over 15 years, having been IIP-recognised continuously since 1997.
