I learned my 'trade' as a rookie recruiter with Gordon Yates - a beneficiary of the unparalleled training and development on offer here.
After three happy and highly successful years however, I was presented with an opportunity to move on from support staff recruitment, into management recruitment, HR and executive search. I welcomed the challenge of working at the more senior level, with all of the professional and commercial demands that this presents.
Eventually however I came to miss increasingly badly the corporate culture I had known at Gordon Yates - colleagues fully committed to high professional standards, directors fully engaged in service delivery, the genuine passion for customer care.
To cut quite a long story short, I came back! Jo and Richard (GY's directors) had long wanted to set up a division specialising in HR positions but, as is the style here, weren't prepared to move on it until they found exactly the right person to head it up.
The rest, as they say, is history!
The launch of our HR Division in 2006 took Gordon Yates into new territory. We recruit nationwide. We recruit up to Director-level. We handle search assignments. Judging from the feedback, I think we also bring something fresh to the HR recruitment sector. The Gordon Yates ethos of honesty and customer care seems to travel well!
