Introduction

Whether reviewing your CV, sharpening your interviewing skills, helping you develop marketing strategies or working with you in one-to-one consultation - in every case we tailor our Career Doctor modules to meet your needs.

Our three core 'Career Doctor' modules (Application Doctor, CV Doctor, Interview Doctor) provide a cost-effective boost to your key jobsearch skills.

Our two Intensive Care programmes ('Creating the Opportunity' and 'Closing the Deal') bring these skills together in a powerful combined package.

CV Prescription (we write it for you) and Consultation complete the Career Doctor range, giving you all the support you need to compete and win in today's competitive job market.

Career Doctor modules

Application Doctor - how to define your target market, how to harness the power of the internet and get it working for you rather than against you, how to use your cover letter and other ways to stand out from the crowd. Get some expert advice and transform your prospects.

Telephone introduction, 30-45 minutes one-to-one consultation, strategy recommendations - £75

CV Doctor - send your CV to us beforehand, even if it is in basic form. We will review it against current CV trends and employer preferences and then talk through what you want to achieve and how best to tailor your CV.

CV review, 30 minutes one-to-one consultation, advisory discussion of tips and techniques - £75

Interview Doctor - with job interviews, the way you come across matters as much as your skills and experience. We advise you about techniques and approaches to maximise your impact at interview and give you honest feedback about what may be holding you back.

30-45 minutes one-to-one consultation including role-play and feedback - £75

Psychometric profiling

Psychometric profiling uses scientific methodology to assess aptitude and personality, comparing an individual's profile against that of a wider norm group.

This can be used as a powerful development tool, identifying personality and aptitude strengths that can aid the change management process.

Gordon Yates staff are trained and authorised to administer and interpret SHL psychometric instruments, including the world standard OPQ (Occupational Personality Questionnaire). Other instruments include:

  • Motivation - what things make you want to work harder?
  • Verbal/numerical reasoning - how strong are your aptitudes?
  • Interest inventory - what are your key areas of career interest?

SHL have been world leaders in workplace psychometric profiling for over 25 years.

Gordon Yates has worked with SHL for almost 20 years.

Price - from £200 per SHL profile
